Wow. It has been a while since I last posted anything. Things are summed up with me not being grounded anymore since I got my report card, my SC skills improving slightly, and I’ve been reading a lot lately.

Max Brooks’ Zombie Survival Guide and WWZ, and a few books by Tom Clancy. Politika and the Sum of all Fears. Rambo III, too, though it made a better movie. 😛

Epic movie came out a few days ago, and I’m itching to go see it. I have as much chance of seeing it as dung has of taking over the world, though, since the parents are against it. Still, you never know when it’ll come out on DVD, and a friend of mine will have it.

In short, life is good, school is mediocre as usual, and I’m in the middle of a four day weekend. (Huzzah for pedagogical days!) I’m having a mate over tomorrow, we’re gonna go over a tiny bit of schoolwork, (:P) and he’s going to show me BF2142, which he bought yesterday.

It’s time to sign off, my dog wants me to take him out to play with him. Cheers!

Man, did I ever come out of a warzone…

4 hours of pure SC carnage. Most of it has been saved as replays. Played with The_Eliminator from HBN, and a few of my friends.

First game: Rye (Terran) + Mj_is_ugly (Zerg) VS Computer (Zerg).
Map: Trench Wars

After about twenty minutes of resource gathering, we were all set up. I had two bunkers filled with firebats and marines guarding the entrance to my base, backed up with a pair of siege tanks. I threw in a missile turret to warn me of enemy lurkers. Tricky bastards, those lurkers. Anyway, just as my first infantry upgrade was completed, the comp launched a huge attack. I counted 19 hydralisks, 3 lurkers, and 12 zerglings. The zerrglings were quickly shelled into the ground by my tanks. Any of them left were incinerated by the firebats. Next came the hydras, quickly followed by the lurkers. The tanks killed two lurkers before they even got in range. The hydras suffered heavy losses, then blew up one of my bunkers. The last lurker easily finished off the marines and firebats inside. I sent in an extra group of 12 troopers, and a pair of medics to patch up anyone left alive. They next few seconds were a bloodbath. Hydras were shot up and incinerated, and marines and firebats alike were impaled by volleys of needle spines. After that first skirmish, I had lost two tanks, two bunkers, nine marines, and three firebats. I quickly rebuilt.

Next, came the final offensive. After rebuilding my defenses, I created an additional 6 marines, 4 firebats, and two medics. Another pair of tanks met up with them. MJIU’s army shortly arrived to help. 24 hydralisks, 12 mutalisks, and a pair of overlords to spot lurkers. I have another group of 12 on their way by this time. Brendan led the way, and we quickly slaughtered the small group of zerglings left to warn the computer of our advance. They clammed up, pulling overlords and assorted troops back into the confines of their base.

Brendan sent in a group of 12 mutalisks to occupy the main force. They tore up drones, shredded defenseless zerglings, and slaughtered hyras. After the 12 mutas got killed by spore colonies and a large group of hydralisks, we moved in. Wiping out one sunken colony drew the comp’s entire army upon us. My groupr of twelve was quickly reduced to 1 medic, and a huge swarm of zerglings and hydralisks dove into us. Brendan must’ve lost a hell of a lot of hydras. Next, my tanks went into action. They shelled the comp’s base, and the remaining hydras covered them until reinforcements could arrive. A few half-hearted attempts were made to kill our forces off. They got one tank and two hydras before my reinforcements arrived. THEN we pwned the comp. The base was destroyed, and we won. 🙂

After a few more Use Map Settings games, I logged off and typed this up.

So yeh. There’s my evening. I’m gonna check PFO to see if PF’s changed anything…

Stuff happened. And I haven’t told you all about it. 😦

This is third week I’ve been spending me lunches at the weight room, pumping some serious iron. *flexes* Between whooping at www.StarEdit.net being back up, and playing SC, there hasn’t been much going on. I did write a short SC ficcy, which you can find on my DA account, www.deviantrye.deviantart.com, under the title “Sharpshooter”. It’s also on StarCraft.org, if you care to take the time to search for it.

My buddy PF3K’s site is getting revamped. New CMS, Xaraya, is replacing Mambo. I’ve been reading the instruction manual in preparation for my new position as [TOP SECRET], and man… that manual’s HUGE. 160 pages, 20+ of ’em dedicated to pronounciation of the damn name, and “special thanks”. Fascinating read.

The old site is here: www.oldsite.plasmafire.org
Main site (under construction): www.plasmafire.org
And the forums: www.comm.plasmafire.org

*sigh* It’s late, and I’m bushed. Homework has relentlessy knocked the stuffing out of me, and weight-lifting hasn’t helped. I have time to eat, shower, and MAYBE do some pushups before I doze off. But of course, I must tell you about my day. Well, I discussed the future of a friend’s website, helped another friend create an IRC channel (#imperialists, on irc.bungie.org), got angry at some brat who picks on my little brother, and surfed the endless void we call the Web.

Not really interesting, I know. So sue me. Oh wait, YOU CAN’T. THERE’S NO LIDIGATION LAW IN CANADA. HA.

On a more serious note, my literary inspiration strikes again, and I’m caught between either writing an SC fic, or figuring out how a weapon in SC works.

Meh, I’ll work it out… tomorrow…

My family went apple-picking yesterday. It was okay, and we ate fresh, juicy apples. Mmm. This one place was popular as hell, had live country music and a buttload of people. Too bad I hate country. They did make fresh, made-before-your-eyes beaver tails. Mouthgasm, they were. For you Americans who’re all “eww, gross, they eat beaver tails”, a beaver tail is a pastry. It’s a oval-shaped flaky bread with apples, maple syrup, icing sugar or cinnamon on it. Delicious.

After browsing endless lists of StarCraft sites, I’ve found an awesome one. www.StarCraft.org piqued my intrest when I noticed it’s fanfic section. The Elite category is impressive indeed. Damn, I guess I ruined that non-SC realted entry. Oh well.

Anyway, I now have some literary inspiration. Expect a fanfic in the next few days. Finishing up a 52meg SC sound effect download, then I’m off to sleep.
